NAWRS would like to thank the following organizations for their support of the 1998 Annual Workshop:

MDRC

The Manpower Demonstration Research Corporation is a nonprofit social policy research organization founded in 1974 and located in New York City and San Francisco.  Its mission is to design and rigorously field-test promising education and employment-related programs aimed at improving the well-being of disadvantaged adults and youth, and to provide policymakers and practitioners with reliable evidence on the effectiveness of social programs.  Through this work, and its extensive technical assistance and dissemination efforts, MDRC seeks to enhance the quality of public policies and programs.

Curtis and Associates

Curtis & Associates, Inc., is an Employment Communications Company that provides training programs and consulting services to public agencies and private businesses in helping the nation's unemployed and underemployed find and keep jobs to reach their potential in a productive, independent lifestyle.

Interface Cellular Communications

Interface Cellular Communications is an Ameritech cellular service provider.  Interface Cellular Communications can handle any communication need.  ICC rents and sells cellular, pager, and 2-way communication equipment.  Interface Cellular Communications is also active in helping Chicago school children.  ICC provides computers for the Chicago Public Schools, and has donated numerous computers to schools that could not otherwise afford to have them.

The Urban Institute

The Urban Institute investigates social and economic problems confronting the nation and analyzes efforts to solve these problems.  The Institute seeks to increase Americans' awareness of important public choices and improve the formulation and implementation of government decisions.  Much of its research is available to the public.
